Projects for education
How Fisherman's Rest Community Project Works With Education in Malawi
We've been working with schools for over 20 years, building classrooms, toilet blocks, kitchens, offices and libraries. The impact of this is better learning infrastructure, improved education, more economic growth and business in the area, and students gaining places in University from rural day secondary schools. (Truly wonderful!)
Fisherman's Rest Community Projects has built 2 Secondary Schools and 8 Libraries. Many of these schools had poor learning environments. We built classroom blocks which are light, bright, colourful and safe.

Classroom and Library Builds
BRAVE & BEYOND
We don't just work with girls on girls empowerment and keeping girls in school. We've found boys also struggle to stay in school, and it takes a change in attitude from boys to make a difference to a school environment. BRAVE is a 12 week after school workshop with pre-adolecent students, aiming to keep chidren in school and BEYOND works with community leaders on safeguarding.
Phala Porridge
37% of children in Malawi are affected by poor nutrition. The direct consequence of hunger is not attending school or being able to concentrate. School breakfasts are funded by Noble Foods, supplied by us, cooked and served by community volunteers each and every school day.
Tilitonse Community Centre
The Tilitonse Centre is a thriving educational after school hub for children. Building creative thinkers, who have access to resources that most rural children miss out on. The centre also runs life-changing adult literacy classes. You can support the centre and follow along with news by joining PILLAR.
Secondary School and University Sponsorship
The Malawian water point parts market is flooded with cheap parts that break within months or days. EverFlow parts are collaborative innovative designs, Made in Malawi, tested in the Madzi field for durability and better value for money.
